Privacy notice
What we hold, why, and how to make us delete it.
People come to us at their most exposed. The least we owe them is a plain account of what happens to the words they send us. No defined terms and no clauses. If anything below is unclear, ask and we will rewrite it.
Who is responsible
Mercaz Tally, a registered Israeli amuta (reg. 580833994) in Ramat Bet Shemesh, decides what happens to the information on this page. Toby Soggot, our founder, is the person who answers for it in practice.
Reach us at contact@mercaztally.org.
What we collect
When you write to usA name or nickname, an email or phone number, and whatever you choose to put in the message.
When you join a programAn intake conversation and an emergency contact, kept by the practitioner leading the group. We do not build clinical records.
When you donateThe giving platform takes your payment and tells us the amount and your name for the receipt. We never see or hold your card details.
When you read this siteNothing. No advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, no analytics profile of you.
Health details, and why we ask you not to send them
Anything about your mental or physical health counts as sensitive information under Israeli law, and as a special category under European law. A contact form is the wrong container for it, so we ask you to leave diagnoses, medication and history out of your first message.
If you send it anyway, we do not delete your message behind your back. We keep it under the same rules as everything else and treat it as sensitive. The things a practitioner genuinely needs to know are better said in person, once you have decided to join something.
Who sees it
One person at Mercaz Tally reads incoming messages. If your inquiry is about a particular group, we pass what is necessary to the practitioner leading it, and we tell you we are doing it.
We do not sell information, swap it with other charities, or use it to fundraise. The single exception is if we believe someone is at risk of serious harm, where the law may require us to tell someone who can help, and we would tell you we had done so, unless doing that would make things more dangerous.
The services that carry your message
When you use the form on this site, a service called Web3Forms delivers the message to our inbox. It passes the message on and does not keep a copy. Our site and our email routing run on Cloudflare, and our mail is then read in a mailbox we control.
These companies are outside Israel, which means your message crosses a border on its way to us. They act only on our instructions and may not use what you write for anything of their own. If you would rather nothing external handled it, write to contact@mercaztally.org directly, or ask us for a phone number.
How long we keep it
Inquiries that go nowhere24 months, then deleted
Intake notes for people in programskept by the practitioner
Donation recordsas tax law requires
What you can ask us to do
Ask what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Withdraw your consent at any time, without giving a reason and without it affecting how you are treated. One email is enough: contact@mercaztally.org. We answer within 30 days.
If we ever get something badly wrong with your information, we will tell you and the regulator, rather than quietly fix it.
Which rules apply to us
We are an Israeli charity, so the Israeli Privacy Protection Law governs what we do. If you write to us from the European Union or the UK, your rights under the GDPR apply as well, and this notice is written to meet them.
HIPAA is a United States healthcare law and does not apply to us. We mention it only because people ask: not being covered by it changes nothing about how carefully we handle what you tell us.
